The CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) Exam is a competitive exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to recruit candidates for the various posts in the CAPF, such as Assistant Commandants. The exam consists of two stages, namely the written exam and the physical and medical test. The written exam comprises two papers: General Ability and Intelligence Test (GAIT) and General Studies, Essay and Comprehension (GSE). The syllabus for the written exam includes topics like General Knowledge, General Intelligence, Numerical Ability, English Language & Comprehension, Current Events, History, Geography, Economics, Polity and International Relations. The physical and medical test include a physical endurance test a
nd a medical examination. The physical endurance test consists of a 5 km run, a 100 m sprint and a long jump. The medical examination includes a physical and medical assessment of the candidate’s fitness. Successful candidates are appointed as Assistant Commandants in CAPF.
